Shri. N Ananthachar

1910-1976

5th September is a very auspicious and remarkable day  to all the teaching fraternity of our country.  It is the day we Celebrate the The Teacher’s Day which marks the birth anniversary of our 1st Vice President of India Shri Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan,  a great scholar and a renowned teacher.

On this  auspicious day also coincides with the birth of our Founder-  Prof.  N Ananthachar who founded Acharya Patashala Educational Trust.  Born in a very cultured and principled family of Bhramins to Shri M Narashimhamurthy Achar and Smt.Tulsamma .  He was born in a village called Nayamgondalu in Tumkur District of Karnataka, brought up and educated in Mysore. The initial N prefixed to his name(N.Ananthachar)  stands for the name of village  (Nayamgondalu) , his birth place.

Though a Vegetable and fruit Vendor by profession, he never enjoyed it. He was always interested in giving literacy to the illiterate, his passion and interest led to the establishment of  Acharya Pathasala Educational Trust  in the year 1935, August 15th. His farsightedness led to the starting of following colleges and schools under the Umbrella of Acharya Pathasala Educational Trust.

  1. APS Higher Primary School
  2. APS Boys High School
  3. APS Girls High School
  4. APS Public School
  5. APS Arts and Science college
  6. APS Commerce College
  7. APS Polytechnic College
  8. APS Rural High School
  9. APS Arts and Commerce Evening College
  10. APS Nursery School
  11. APS English School
  12. APS Engineering College
  13. Professor N. Ananthaachar Memorial Computer Center

He was the Founder Secretary of APS Educational Trust,   He was a great visionary and dedicated himself to the cause of education which has resulted in the present form of Acharya Patashala Educational Trust.  His strong will power converted the stone barren land into a wonderful campus which blooms many flowers every year to serve the society.

The Arts, Science and Commerce College was started in 1956. APS Arts, Science & Commerce was bifurcated as APS Arts & Science College and Acharya Pathashala College of Commerce in the year 1986.  Its indeed a pleasure to have him as the 1st  Principal of APS Arts, Science and Commerce College from 1st June 1956 to 3rd September 1975

We carry his blessings and march towards improving the cause of education.
